Sunday: The Wonder of Christmas

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Don’t worry!  According to the Christian calendar, this Sunday is the Second Sunday of Christmas.  So, you have a final chance for Christmas music, like “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night, Holy Night,” after the last two services were cancelled.

And Curtis Staggs, who was originally scheduled for Dec. 27, will be preaching this coming Sunday on the topic “The Wonder of Christmas.”

Join us for worship at 6:00.

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Counting Pastor Scott Jones’ sermons (not including those of guest preachers), the following were the most preached on biblical books of 2009 at CoH-OKC:

1.  Psalms — 7

2.  Mark — 6

3.  John — 5
     Ephesians

5.  II Corinthians – 3
      Job
      Luke

8.  II Kings — 2
      I John
      II Samuel

The following all had one sermon preached from them:

Deuteronomy

Jeremiah
I Corinthians

I feel that this is a pretty good spread through various parts of the Bible.

Formations for 2010

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

This Sunday we will discuss what we would like to do with the Formations class in 2010.  Do we want to continue with the same format as 2009 or mix it up somewhat with a book study or something else?

Join us at 4:30 in the youth basement.  Enter behind the playground through the arcade.  Yes, we are returning to our original spot now that the construction there is complete.

Three more chances for Christmas Music

Monday, December 21st, 2009

There is always more great Advent and Christmas music than we can ever fit in to all the services we have.  We still have three more services of Christmas music, so you won’t want to miss singing some of your favourites the one time a year we get to.  Don’t miss Christmas Eve or the two Sundays of Christmastide.
